COVID restrictions ease in California as the number of new cases falls
As of Monday, January 26th, Governor Newsom has lifted some of the restrictions put in place as part of the nearly two month long stay at home order California was under.
Due to a falling number of positive cases and increasing openings in ICU beds projected to continue at least four weeks into the future, more businesses have been able to reopen their doors.
San Diego is now under the purple-colored Tier 1 set of restrictions which has had the following effects on businesses: hair and nail salons as well as personal care services are now permitted to be open indoors with modifications, retailers may operate at 25% capacity, hotels are fully open, gyms and fitness centers may operate outdoors, restaurants may serve patrons in outdoor dining areas until 10pm, bars (not serving any food) must remain closed, and places of worship and movie theaters, museums, zoos and aquariums may welcome guests outdoors only.
As we all know, we’re lucky enough that San Diego winters allow for comfortable outdoor dining, so if you’re comfortable doing so, stop by your favorite spots the next time you’re in town. Our local businesses would surely appreciate your support as many of them have been struggling to stay afloat.
Like always, we’re crossing our fingers and doing our part in hopes that things will stay open for good (with necessary modifications of course) so that we all can enjoy beautiful Cardiff-by-the-Sea.
We hope to see you soon!
